Don Lampe Addresses Congress On Mortgage Lending

Womble Carlyle attorney Don Lampe spoke at a Congressional subcommittee hearing on the topic of subprime mortgage lending on Tuesday, May 8.

Lampe spoke to the U.S. House Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit on "The Role of the Secondary Market in Subprime Mortgage Lending." The hearing focused on the secondary market in subprime mortgage loans and the effect of the mortgage securitization process on subprime lending in light of recent developments in the subprime loan market.

Other speakers included Cara Heiden, Division President, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage; Warren Kornfeld, Managing Director, Moody's Investors Service; Howard Mulligan, Attorney at Law, McDermott, Will and Emery; Michael Calhoun, President and Chief Operating Officer, Center for Responsible Lending; Larry B. Litton, Jr., President and CEO, Litton Loan Servicing; and Judy Kennedy, Executive Director, National Association of Affordable Housing Lenders.
