October 17, 2011
ATLANTA—When Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal went on a business recruiting trip to China, he took along some helpful advice from two Womble Carlyle attorneys.
Womble Carlyle’s Guanming Fang and Clint Richardson wrote the Guide for Expanding Into the U.S. Market in cooperation with the Georgia Department of Economic Development. Gov. Deal requested and took copies of the guide with him on his trip to share with Chinese business leaders. The guide is written in both English and Chinese.
Guanming Fang is the team leader of the Womble Carlyle’s China Initiative. She advises mid-market companies in their mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, private equity transactions, and other corporate transactions. She has represented U.S. and international (particularly Chinese) clients across a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, service, life sciences, and information technology.
Clint Richardson works regularly with growing companies in the information technology, life science, and service industries and with companies and individuals that provide financing to or acquire growing companies. Clint is a founder and director of the oldest venture capital and private equity investor association in the Southeast, the Atlanta Venture Forum, and is the author of a critically acclaimed series of Growth Company Guides for entrepreneurs and private company investors.
