Jackie Terry Hughes Participates in Corporate Compliance Series

RALEIGH, N.C.—Womble Carlyle attorney Jackie Terry Hughes has finished filming the first in a series of CLE programs hosted by the North Carolina Bar Association involving Corporate Compliance issues. Hughes is joined in the program by Pete Anderson of Anderson Terpening, PLLC, which provides a basic overview of the benefits of effective compliance programs, along with an overview of the 2010 amendments to the Organizational Sentencing Guidelines.

The one hour 15 minute program, entitled “The Principles & Benefits of Effective Corporate Compliance Programs,” is presented through the North Carolina Bar Association and is now available for viewing. Viewers can watch this CLE credit program any time at their convenience.

The program addresses the following topics:
  • A glimpse inside the government`s “playbook”
  • Perspectives from the criminal and civil side regarding how an effective compliance program can go a long way in preventing and/or minimizing an organization’s risk of government investigation and civil judgment.
  • Suggested changes to your existing compliance program based on the recent amendments to the organizational sentencing guidelines.
 
 
Jackie Terry Hughes has more than 20 years experience defending and counseling companies involved in product liability and general liability matters, including class actions, mass torts and multi-district litigation. She has assisted clients in their risk management needs and has counseled clients on proactive steps that organizations can take to minimize their exposure to litigation. Jackie has also assisted clients in the investigation and defense of catastrophic incidents. She practices in Womble Carlyle’s Raleigh office.
