Patent Team Joins Womble Carlyle's Raleigh Office

RALEIGH, N.C.—Three senior patent attorneys have joined Womble Carlyle, giving the firm increased experience and bench strength in this expanding practice area.
Christopher Humphrey, Kevin Lyn and Ryan Cagle join the firm’s rapidly growing Intellectual Property Practice Group, and will practice in the firm’s Raleigh office. All three come to Womble Carlyle from Alston+Bird LLP in Raleigh.
- Chris Humphrey concentrates his practice on patent prosecution and client counseling, particularly in the international and domestic biotech, chemical and mechanical areas. His clients include companies in the pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, medical diagnostic equipment, herbicides, polymers, films and coatings industries. Chris is the former president of the Triangle Intellectual Property Law Association.
- Kevin Lyn also works in the area of patent prosecution and patent transactions. He is a former project engineer for Mitsubishi Semiconductor America Inc., and has more than 10 years of experience as a patent attorney. Kevin is Co-President of the North Carolina Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
- Ryan Cagle worked as a Schlumberger, Ltd., researcher, where he conducted research into thermo-setting gels. He assists patent clients in the green technology, chemical and pharmaceutical fields.
These new members follow the firm’s December announcement that a team of six life sciences and software attorneys and patent agents joined the firm in its Northern Virginia office. These hires increase the overall Intellectual Property Practice Group to nearly 70 attorneys and agents firm wide, with more than 40 patent attorneys.
