November 28, 2011
Womble Carlyle Corporate and Securities attorney John F. Sandy Smith has written published articles for both the Atlanta Business Chronicle and the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal in recent days.
The Silicon Valley article, entitled “Immigration is Still a Powder Keg Issue,” addresses the need to keep the door open to immigrants in high-tech fields. Smith notes that a significant number of Silicon Valley companies were founded by foreign-born entrepreneurs.
In Atlanta, Smith wrote on “Steve Jobs’ Lessons for the Entrepreneur.”
Smith also spoke with the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Kat Greene about “What Keeps Whistleblowers Up at Night?” He discusses Dodd-Frank and how its whistleblower provisions may have unintended consequences for businesses.
Sandy Smith is a senior partner in the Atlanta office of Womble Carlyle and chair of the Institute for Research in the Social Sciences at Stanford University.
