Nine years ago, Womble Carlyle attorney Des Connall wanted to help victims of Multiple Sclerosis. The cause is particularly important to Connall because his sister, Cathy, suffers from the disease.

So Connall and his daughter, Kristin, decided to break out their bikes and ride in the MS Bike Tour. Nine years later, they are still at it and now joined by Womble Carlyle attorneys Eric Breisach, Mark Palchick, and Stan Wrobel.

“When we ride, we do so to show our support for Cathy, as well as for the many other people we know who have MS,” Connall said.

The 10-person Team Womble raised more than $10,000 in this year’s race, which was held June 6-7 in Middleburg, Va. The 150-mile event took the riders through some of Northern Virginia’s hilliest terrain.

Money raised through the ride is used for research, counseling, support groups, job placement, transportation assistance, and other important programs sponsored by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Connall and Wrobel both are members of the firm’s Real Estate Development team, while Breisach and Palchick are members of the Telecommunications, Cable & Broadcast team. All four practice in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office.
