Tom Lee to Speak on Flexible Financing Options for Local Governments

RALEIGH, N.C.—Tom Lee, the leader of Womble Carlyle’s Public Finance Team, will speak at the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners Annual Conference.
 
Lee will participate in a panel discussion on Financing Economic Development: Old Tools and New Tools in the County Toolbox.” Continued development is an important key to improving the state’s economic psyche. How can counties finance growth and development when budgets are constrained and the usual types of debt financing are not necessarily the most cost-effective options? Panelists will discuss the ideal uses (and pitfalls to avoid) for such options as special assessment districts, tax increment financing, and the more traditional methods of supporting economic development in North Carolina.
 
Lee will be joined in the discussion by Patrick Byker of K&L Gates LLP andVance Holloman, Director of the North Carolina Local Government Commission.

The conference takes place August 19th at the Embassy Suites Resort Hotel in Concord, N.C.
