Womble Carlyle served as legal counsel in the formation of Atlantic Capital Bank, the largest de novo bank in U.S. history with $125 Million in start-up capital. Steve Dunlevie led a team of Womble lawyers, including Clark Fitzgerald, Tom McLain, Charles Benedict, Ted Claypoole and Erica Berg, who helped Atlantic Capital navigate the highly complex regulatory issues involved in obtaining approval for the bank formation, and also advised on corporate matters, lease negotiations, vendor contracts and operational matters.
