Womble Carlyle Attorneys, Staff Participate in DRI Annual Meeting

NEW ORLEANS—Womble Carlyle was well-represented at the 2008 Annual Meeting of DRI, the Voice of the Defense Bar. Attorneys John Parker Sweeney, Jack Williams and Sky Woodward, along with Katie Tedrow of the Client Development Department and Dr. Sandy Donaldson, attended the conference, which took place Oct. 22-26 in New Orleans.
The team of attorneys and staff conducted numerous meetings with current and prospective clients. FirmLogic hosted an interactive booth at the Exhibitor Hall.
In addition, Womble Carlyle sponsored DRI’s Annual Diversity Reception. More than 400 guests attended the reception, held at the Sheraton New Orleans. Juan Williams, a national political commentator for NPR and Fox News, was the special guest for the reception.
Also at the meeting, Sweeney was elected to a three-year term on the DRI Board of Directors.
DRI is the international organization of attorneys defending the interests of business and individuals in civil litigation. The DRI Annual Meeting attracted more than 1,000 attorneys for networking opportunities and educational seminars on key topics facing the legal profession.
This is the second major conference Womble Carlyle has participated in during the month of October. A contingent of attorneys and staff members also attended the recent Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Annual Meeting in Seattle.
