Womble Carlyle Attorneys To Pitch In At WFDD

Friday morning, a team of Womble Carlyle attorneys and staff members will run the phone bank at the Triad's public radio station, WFDD (88.5 FM), in support of the radio station's fundraiser.
The Womble Carlyle team will be at the radio station on the Wake Forest University campus from 7 to 9 a.m. Friday answering calls and taking pledges from listeners. Linwood Davis, the organizer of the Womble Carlyle volunteer effort, says the firm has helped the radio station with every fundraiser going back nearly 20 years. WFDD holds two annual fundraising events—one in October and one in April.
Public radio stations no longer receive the same level of financial support from the government that they once did. “Now, they pretty much need to support themselves,” Davis said. "Most of that support comes in the form of donations from listeners."
