ATLANTA—The current issue of the Atlanta Business Chronicle includes a lengthy article on the history of Womble Carlyle in the Atlanta market.

Womble Carlyle opened its Atlanta office in 1993. In 1996, the firm expanded via a merger with the Atlanta firm of Parker, Johnson, Cook & Dunlevie.  A 1998 merger with Isaf, Vaughan & Kerr in 1998 brought a top-flight intellectual property practice to the Atlanta office, including attorneys Lou Isaf, Jim Vaughan and Steve Kerr.

Today, Womble Carlyle’s Atlanta office is home to nearly 70 attorneys. In 2009, the Atlanta office moved to Atlantic Station, giving Womble Carlyle far greater visibility in the Atlanta market.

Individual attorneys spotlighted in the Atlanta Business Chronicle article are Steve Dunlevie, Clint Richardson, Michael Sullivan, Sandy Smith and John Despriet.

The article also included photos of Womble Carlyle Managing Partner Keith Vaughan and Corporate & Securities attorney Bernard Coleman with boxing legend (and firm client) Evander Holyfield, as well as Womble Carlyle attorneys Sandy Smith and Kent Webb with Georgia Power President Paul Bowers, who spoke at a recent Womble Carlyle Thought Leader Speaker Series event.
