Tysons Corner, VA—On September 8, 2011, approximately 50 companies were invited to make a first presentation of their high-growth entrepreneurial ventures to a team of active angel investors, mentors and colleagues, with hopes of being selected to present at the Angel Venture Forum on October 18, 2011. Of the presenting companies, 30 were invited to attend the inaugural Angel Venture Forum at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, which will draw active angel investors from across the region. The AVF Selection Day was hosted at founding sponsor Womble Carlyle’s Tysons Corner office where entrepreneurs in attendance also heard from firm members, Karl Knoll and Dean Rutley on Term Sheet Basics, Strategy & Tactics, and Sanjay Beri and Todd Harris discussed IP concerns including licensing and monetizing proprietary technologies.

 

The AVF includes an Opening Reception on October 17^th at the National Press Club for investors, entrepreneurs, and service providers. Admission to the October 18^th program is closed to accredited investors, sponsors and selected entrepreneurs.
