Womble Carlyle hosted a Thought Leader Speaker Series event with media industry expert Jim McManus, co-founder of NewsCertified Exchange, on Thursday, March 17^th in the firm’s Atlanta office. More than 175 people attended to hear the presentation entitled “Social Media: Threats and Opportunities,” which was also broadcast via videoconference to the firm’s other offices. 

 

McManus discussed the changes wrought by social media, which present threats as well as a wealth of opportunities to tangibly alter an organization’s or individual’s approach to marketing, public relations, and networking. He highlighted ways business leaders can use social media to create a personal and business brand. The event was moderated by Womble Carlyle attorney Sandy Smith.
