Womble Carlyle Hosts Striking Back at Cancer Bowl-A-Thon in Atlanta Launches Womble Cares Program

Womble Carlyle’s Atlanta office hosted its inaugural Womble Cares event, the Striking Back at Cancer Bowl-a-thon on May 22, 2007, raising $13,000 to benefit the American Cancer Society. More than 44 bowlers, including Womble Carlyle employees, clients, friends and vendors, participated in the charity event held at the 300 Atlanta Bowling Center.

Bowlers and sponsors included representatives from companies such as BB&T, The PrivateBank, NCR Corporation, IntelliNet, ChoicePoint, Greystone Power Corporation, Newmark, Southern States, Ernst & Young, LawDocsXpress, Raymond James & Associates, Matria Healthcare, FTI Consulting and others.

Womble Cares is an employee volunteer program which creates opportunities for Womble attorneys and staff, in partnership with clients, vendors and friends, to give back to their communities and make a difference – while having fun in the process. The Striking Back at Cancer Bowl-a-thon benefiting the American Cancer Society was a cause close to our hearts in Atlanta, with several attorneys and staff undergoing cancer treatment during this past year.
