Womble Carlyle Names 11 New Members

Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, PLLC, announced that 11 of its attorneys have become members* of the firm. The attorneys, all of whom served previously in associate or of counsel roles at Womble Carlyle, are: Mary Adams, David Baddour, Andrew Claerbout, Jason Hicks, Chris Jeffers, George Kurlyandchik, Meredith McKee, John Pueschel, Dana Stano, Matthew Ward and Jacob Wharton.
Mary Craven Adams is an experienced litigator who focuses her practice in the areas of general civil litigation, medical malpractice defense, and domestic relations. Adams practices in the firm’s Winston-Salem, N.C. office.
David B. Baddour splits his practice between private investment fund transactions, including fund formation and representation, and general corporate work, with an emphasis on start-up companies. Baddour practices in Research Triangle Park, N.C.
Andrew N. Claerbout concentrates his practice on mechanical and electrical patent prosecution. Claerbout has experience drafting and prosecuting foreign and domestic patent applications relating to various mechanical and electrical technologies. He practices in Atlanta.
Jason C. Hicks litigates cases involving federal and state antitrust laws, franchise and dealer protection statutes, unfair and deceptive trade practices, advertising laws and regulations, trade regulations, contract disputes, business torts, and constitutional law. He practices in Washington, D.C.
Christopher E. Jeffers, Ph.D. is a registered patent attorney who focuses exclusively on the representation of life science companies, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, agricultural and medical device companies. He practices in Washington, D.C.
George Kurlyandchik has significant experience representing large U.S. and foreign banks and other financial institutions, as well as public and private borrowers, in all aspects of commercial lending transactions. He practices in Womble Carlyle’s Atlanta office.
Meredith J. McKee is a business litigator who concentrates on state and federal consumer class actions, as well as consumer financial services and other complex commercial cases. McKee practices in Charlotte, N.C.
John E. Pueschel devotes his practice to representing businesses in the ever-changing area of labor and employment law, with a particular interest in the increasingly complex area of privacy rights laws and data security. Pueschel practices in Winston-Salem.
Dana E. Stano is a registered patent attorney in Atlanta who practices in the area of intellectual property, including patent preparation and prosecution, patent opinions and patent litigation. Stano also has experience in trademark law and intellectual property licensing.
Matthew P. Ward is a bankruptcy attorney who has represented clients in chapter 11 reorganizations, chapter 7 and chapter 11 proceedings, acquisitions of distressed assets, and change of control transactions. He practices in Womble Carlyle’s Wilmington, Del., office.
Jacob S. Wharton focuses on intellectual property dispute resolution, including patent, trademark, and copyright infringement litigation; proceedings before the Trademark Trial & Appeal Board; trade secret misappropriation litigation; and antitrust matters. He practices in Winston-Salem.
