Gov. Jim Hunt—Jim Hunt is a nationally recognized leader in education and led North Carolina through twenty years of dramatic economic change in his historic four terms as governor. He currently is a member of the firm’s Raleigh office.

Guanming Fang—Guanming actively works with organizations that help U.S. companies do business in China and Chinese businesses enter the U.S. market. In 2004, Guanming co-founded the Georgia-China Alliance, Inc., a non-profit organization devoted to promoting business exchanges between the United States and China. She is a frequent speaker on China’s contract and corporate law.

John Hunter—John's practice is primarily focused on assisting clients with economic development initiatives and opportunities in the Carolinas. Having served as Director of Economic Development for the two-state, sixteen-county Charlotte Regional Partnership, John works closely with domestic and international companies seeking to expand or relocate to the Carolinas and the southeast United States. He is a member of the firm’s Charlotte office.

Ed Miller—Ed joined Womble Carlyle’s Baltimore office after nearly four years on the staff of Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. Ed served as Maryland’s Deputy Secretary of Business and Economic Development and then Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Ehrlich from 2003 until the end of the Governor’s term in 2007.

Randy Hanson—A member of the firm’s Greensboro office, Randy advises domestic and international businesses on a variety of transactional, corporate and commercial matters. He is particularly experienced at assisting international clients establish or expand business operations in the United States and aiding U.S. companies expand overseas.

Kirk Watkins—Kirk, a member of the firm’s Atlanta office, manages and tries patent, complex business litigation and international arbitration disputes. He is a veteran litigator with more than 30 years’ experience in the courtroom.

Rory Whelehan—Rory is a bankruptcy and creditor’s rights lawyer in the firm’s Greenville office. He concentrates his practice primarily on Chapter 11 cases and assorted bankruptcy litigation matters as well as out-of-court workouts and debt restructurings.

Jim Kearney—Jim has more than twenty-five years’ experience representing clients in a variety of matters involving government contracts, public contract law, international trade proceedings and litigation, export controls and economic sanctions, customs law, homeland security programs, internal investigations and compliance, voluntary disclosures and enforcement proceedings. He is a member of the firm’s Washington, D.C. and Tysons Corner offices.

Zion Levi—Zion’s practice encompasses all facets of federal income tax law, including taxation of transfer pricing and other international transactions and taxation of dealings in real estate. He is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Investment Trust team in the Washington, D.C. office.
