Womble Carlyle Welcomes Six Lawyers To The Triangle

Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, PLLC announced the addition of six new associates to the firm's Triangle offices. In the Raleigh office, Susan Blazier and Michael Henry join the firm's Real Estate Development Practice Group, and Jason Belk and Mark Sigmon join the firm's Business Litigation Practice Group. In the Research Triangle Park office, Amy Fix joins the Intellectual Property Practice Group and Jennifer Ammirati joins the Corporate & Securities Practice Group.

Susan Blazier will focus her practice on real estate development and the acquisition and disposition of real property. Prior to joining Womble Carlyle, she served as a Judicial Clerk of the Supreme Court of North Carolina for two years. Susan earned her bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her J.D., summa cum laude, from Campbell University. She is admitted to practice before all North Carolina state courts.

Michael Henry will focus his practice on real estate development, litigation and land use matters. Prior to joining the firm, Michael worked on an array of legal issues as a law clerk on the North Carolina Court of Appeals. He received his bachelor's degree from Wake Forest University and his J.D., magna cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law. He is admitted to practice before all North Carolina state courts and the North Carolina Court of Appeals.

Jason Belk will concentrate his practice in the area of business litigation. He received his bachelor's degree from Duke University. Jason earned his Masters of Public Policy from Harvard University and his J.D. from the University of California, Berkley School of Law. He is admitted to the California State Bar.

Mark Sigmon will also focus his practice on business litigation. Prior to joining Womble Carlyle, Mark worked on civil, criminal, immigration and administrative cases as a clerk for Judge Patrick Higginbotham of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Mark received his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina and his J.D., summa cum laude, from Duke Law School. He is admitted to practice before New York state courts.

Amy Fix will concentrate her practice on patent matters. Prior to joining Womble Carlyle, Amy was Senior Patent Counsel at GlaxoSmithKline for over six years having previously practiced with Rhodes, Coats, and Bennett, a boutique patent firm. In addition, she worked as a Medicinal Chemistry Laboratory Assistant at Burroughs Wellcome, Inc. She received her bachelor's degree in Chemistry, cum laude, from North Carolina State University and her J.D. from Campbell University. Amy is admitted to practice before all North Carolina state courts and the United States Patent & Trademark Office.

Jennifer Ammirati will concentrate her practice in the area of corporate & securities. She received her bachelor's degree, summa cum laude, from Roanoke College and her J.D., magna cum laude, from Wake Forest University School of Law. Jennifer is admitted to practice before all North Carolina state courts.
