Business Litigation Attorney Bob Gaumont Joins Womble Carlyle

BALTIMORE—Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, PLLC, announced that business litigator Robert A. “Bob” Gaumont has joined the firm’s Baltimore office.

Bob is an experienced business, commercial and white collar defense litigator, with a focus on disputes concerning shareholders, securities, corporate governance issues, class actions, RICO and business competition claims. He also has extensive experience conducting internal investigations and helping companies resolve employment disputes.

“Bob is well-known in legal and business circles here in Baltimore,” said David Hamilton, Managing Member of Womble Carlyle’s Baltimore office. “He is a strong addition to our business litigation practice, which has been a hallmark of Womble Carlyle for more than 130 years.”

In recent years, Bob has been involved in some high-profile cases, including representing form U.S. Sen. George Mitchell in his investigation into steroid and performance-enhancing drug use in Major League Baseball. Bob also helped MCI World Com obtain a declination of charges by the U.S. Department of Justice following a widely publicized federal investigation.

Before entering private practice, Bob served as a prosecutor in Baltimore. He comes to Womble Carlyle from the firm of DLA Piper US LLP in Baltimore.
