Gene Jones Elected to United Arts Council Board of Directors

RALEIGH, N.C.—Womble Carlyle attorney Gene Jones has been elected to the Board of Directors of the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County. He will serve a three-year term on the board.
 
Gene Jones has more than a decade of extensive experience representing public and private companies in a wide variety of strategic transactions ranging in size to more than $500 million. His practice is concentrated in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate spin-offs and divestitures, private equity fund formation and syndication, private securities offerings and investments, venture capital, joint ventures and strategic partnering, corporate governance and general corporate law. Jones practices in Womble Carlyle’s Raleigh office.
 
Since 1990, the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County has served as the umbrella fundraising organization for the arts in Wake County, N.C. To accomplish this mission, United Arts raises money from businesses, individuals, foundations and government. Funds are then distributed back to the community through grants to artists and arts organizations, the Artists in the Schools Program, Community Arts Reach and Creative Explorations teacher training.
