Winston-Salem Chamber Honors Womble Carlyle with Salute to Business Award

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.—The Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce has awarded Womble Carlyle its Salute to Business Award, given for support of the Chamber and the community.
Womble Carlyle Managing Member Keith Vaughan and Firm Management Committee Member Bill Whitehurst accepted the award at a Thursday, July 21st luncheon, held at the Marriott Hotel.
Womble Carlyle’s community efforts in Winston-Salem include support for:
- United Way of Forsyth County. Many Womble Carlyle attorneys have served in United Way leadership positions, and the firm’s Winston-Salem office is a major annual contributor.
- Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County
- Sponsorship of the Womble Carlyle Club at BB&T Ballpark, home of the Winston-Salem Dash baseball team
- Second Harvest Food Bank Arts Council of Winston-Salem & Forsyth County
- National Black Theatre Festival
- Brenner Children’s Hospital
Womble Carlyle attorneys serve on many local community and charitable boards, including boards at Wake Forest University and the Reynolda House.
The Salute to Business Award is jointly administered by the Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce, the Twin City Quarter, the Winston-Salem Journal and QC Engraving. Winners are spotlighted in the Winston-Salem Journal.
