Womble Carlyle Announces Nine New Members
Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, PLLC, announced that nine of its attorneys have become members* of the firm. The attorneys, all of whom served previously in associate or of counsel roles at Womble Carlyle, are: David Broughton, Richard Hills, Sterling Laney, Kevin Mangan, David Mazza, Ryan Opel, Sean Perrin, Jolie Tenholder and Randi Weiss.
David P. Broughton (Winston-Salem, N.C.) represents public and private companies in the areas of general corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, venture capital and securities regulation.
Richard T. Hills (Atlanta) represents and counsels institutional and individual clients in bank, thrift and holding company regulatory, enforcement and compliance matters. He also represents financial institutions in merger and acquisition transactions.
Shelton Sterling Laney III (Greenville, S.C.) counsels public and private companies on general corporate matters, consumer credit issues, commercial real estate, as well as regulatory compliance and investigative matters.
Kevin J. Mangan (Wilmington, Del.) represents clients in bankruptcy litigation including fraudulent conveyance and preference actions, asset sales, claims objections and related litigation, relief from stay proceedings and disclosure statements and confirmation hearings.
David J. Mazza (Winston-Salem, N.C.) leads a permanent, ongoing document review team that handles document review projects for Womble Carlyle attorneys as well as for clients’ other law firms. He is an experienced product liability litigator.
Ryan B. Opel (Winston-Salem, N.C.) focuses his practice on general corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, securities regulation, corporate governance, corporate finance, commercial contracts, and franchising.
Sean F. Perrin (Charlotte) is a business litigator with experience in constitutional law, employment, public official and governmental defense, contract dispute, personal injury, wrongful death, and qui tam (whistleblower) litigation.
Jolie Amie Tenholder (Charlotte) represents financial institutions in transactions ranging from origination of loans to the workout of troubled debt, including both syndicated and single lender transactions and both secured and unsecured transactions.
Dr. Randi B. Weiss (Winston-Salem, N.C.) is a Ph.D. molecular biologist and a product liability litigation lawyer. She is involved in the preparation of medical and scientific defenses for complex product liability cases.
*In the organizational structure of a Professional Limited Liability Company, the term member is equivalent to the term partner in general partnership law firms.
