Womble Carlyle’s Hagner, Norton and Tarkenton Named Top Attorneys By Washingtonian Magazine

WASHINGTON, D.C.—In the D.C.’s fiercely competitive political and business environments, companies and candidates turn to trusted veterans and Washington insiders for legal guidance.
Womble Carlyle’s John Hagner, Larry Norton and Jeff Tarkenton are three of those valued counselors. The three were named among the Top Washington Lawyers in their respective practice areas by Washingtonian magazine.
 
Tarkenton was named in the “Gone Bankrupt” section of D.C.’s leading bankruptcy attorneys. Hagner was listed in the “If You Build It….” section as a leading real estate transaction attorney. And Norton was named in the “On the Campaign Trail” section as a top campaign-finance and ethics laws attorney.

The 800-lawyer list represents Washington, D.C.’s top one percent across 28 legal specialties. More than 1,000 area attorneys were asked who they would hire to represent themselves, and the results were published as the seventh edition of the now annual list.

Jeffrey L. “Jeff” Tarkenton
—Tarkenton has more than 20 years of experience representing creditors, landlords and equity interests in business bankruptcy cases and in fraudulent conveyance and preference lawsuits that arise in bankruptcy cases. In addition, Mr. Tarkenton works with other Womble Carlyle attorneys to analyze the effect of bankruptcy and insolvency laws on corporate and financial transactions. He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and listed in The Best Lawyers in America.
