Womble Carlyle Managing Partner Keith Vaughan has been named to the Board of Directors of Lex Mundi, the world’s leading association of independent law firms. Lex Mundi’s membership including 160 law firms in more than 100 countries, representing more than 21,000 attorneys.

 

Vaughan is one of 18 members on the Board of Directors, and one of only six from the United States. Other current board members practice law in China, Chile, the Netherlands, Belgium, Australia, Japan, Sweden, France, Argentina, Australia, Canada and Guatemala. Womble Carlyle is the North Carolina member firm of Lex Mundi.

New board members were elected at Lex Mundi’s recent Annual Meeting in Vienna. Vaughan will serve a four-year term on the Lex Mundi Board of Directors. He also serves as Chair of the Managing Partners Committee of Lex Mundi.

 

Keith Vaughan has served as Womble Carlyle’s Managing Partner since 2002. Under his leadership, Womble Carlyle has expanded its footprint into Baltimore, Delaware and, earlier this year, Charleston, S.C.

 

He advocated the firm’s involvement in the Association of Corporate Counsel’s Value Challenge, which seeks to better align outside legal services with the needs of corporate clients. Vaughan has led and encouraged the development of value-oriented ancillary services at Womble Carlyle such as the Case Management Facility (CMF), FirmLogic (medical litigation support), Document Review Team, and Womble Carlyle Ecology Innovations LLC (WCEI). These services benefit clients by delivering cost effective solutions to traditionally expensive legal challenges.
