Womble Carlyle’s Peggy Binzer Tapped to Chair Women in Bio Public Affairs Committee

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Womble Carlyle attorney Peggy Binzer has been named Chair of the Women in Bio (WIB) Public Affairs Committee.
In this role, Binzer will lead WIB’s advocacy program to raise awareness about WIB and its members among key federal and state legislators and their staff, while monitoring issues of interest to the WIB professionals, and promoting expanded opportunities for Young Women in BIO (YWIB).
Women in Bio is an organization of professionals committed to fostering and encouraging entrepreneurship and career development of women active in the life science industry. The organization includes executives, entrepreneurs, scientists, investors, students, and women in professional fields that serve the life sciences industry, all of whom share an interest in science and entrepreneurship. Womble Carlyle life sciences patent attorney Amy Fix is on the Board of the Research Triangle WIB chapter.
Margaret C. “Peggy” Binzer is an experienced public policy and legal counselor in Womble Carlyle’s Government Affairs Team where she focuses her practice on life science issues. With more than 15 years experience in food and drug law, she has worked extensively on a variety of legal and legislative issues related to pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biotechnology, biodefense, and global health. Prior to joining Womble Carlyle, Binzer served as Senior FDA Health Counsel to several Senate Committees and was a primary advisor to Senator Judd Gregg on FDA issues. She practices in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.
