WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.—Womble Carlyle attorney and Pro Bono Director Tripp Greason has been elected a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

The American Bar Foundation Fellows is an honorary organization of attorneys, judges, law faculty, and legal scholars who have been elected by their peers to become members of The Fellows. They have demonstrated outstanding achievements and dedication to the welfare of their communities and to the highest principles of the legal profession. Membership in The Fellows is a great honor limited to one third of one percent of the lawyers in America. Greason was nominated by long-time Womble Carlyle attorney Grady Barnhill.

Greason joins Womble Carlyle attorneys Grady Barnhill, Brent Clinkscale, Linwood Davis, Carlton Fleming, Mike Gunter, Murray Greason, Bill Ragland, Bill Sullivan, Michael Sullivan, John Parker Sweeney, Dewey Wells, William F. Womble and Bill Womble, Jr. as American Bar Foundation Fellows.

Founded in 1952, the American Bar Foundation is an organization dedicated to advancing justice through rigorous research on the law, legal processes, and the law's impact on our society.

Murray C. “Tripp” Greason III focused the first part of his career working with forensic psychiatrists, psychologists, and pharmacologists on the defense of "addiction" and neurotoxicity claims that arise in product liability cases across the nation. In 2005, he became the firm’s first full-time Pro Bono Director and assumed the responsibility for the creation, implementation, and management of the firm’s pro bono activities; developing pro bono opportunities for the firm’s attorneys; monitoring the quality, quantity and diversity of Womble Carlyle pro bono activities; and providing overall support for the firm’s Pro Bono Committee. Greason practices in the firm’s Winston-Salem office.
