Representative Cases

  • Defense of several hundred product liability cases for numerous motor vehicle manufacturers (including domestic, Japanese, and European) on a wide variety of claims including: crashworthiness (including serving on regional counsel team for post collision fuel fed fires for more than 10 years); seat back design; airbag non-deployment; side impact; roof crush; unintended acceleration; brake failure; rollover; steering particles; and tie-rod design. 
  • Representation of the engineers, executives, and key employees of national bus manufacturer, in litigation against them throughout the United States and Canada. Representation includes client’s interaction with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). 
  • Serve as national coordinating defense counsel, chief litigator, and case manager for claims brought against automobile manufacturer for asbestos litigation. Manage local and regional defense counsel comprised of 35 law firms. 
  • Defense of heavy machinery manufacturers for claims relating to forklift rollover protection, operator restraint, and back-up alarms. 
  • Representation of domestic and foreign motor vehicle manufacturers for claims alleging misrepresentation, breach of express and/or implied warranties, and unfair and deceptive trade practices. 
  • Defense of negligence claims relating to both design and use of automobile component parts in the NASCAR race industry.
  • Represent two of the largest trucking companies in the United States in multiple lawsuits alleging wrongful death, closed head injuries, burns, and other serious injuries in multiple jurisdictions across the country. Representation has included successfully defending clients' to defense verdicts in federal courts.
