  • Successfully represented Synthetic Stucco siding manufacturers (EIFS and DEFS) in MDL and class action litigation in multiple states defending against a full scale attack on their products old and new. 
  • Successfully represented Synthetic Stucco siding manufacturers in resolving numerous residential building performance cases in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, New Jersey and other states.
  • Tried MDL building performance case and obtained favorable verdict for building products manufacturer.
  • Defeated national and statewide class certification in numerous attempts to certify classes against Synthetic Stucco manufacturers including in an MDL proceeding, Georgia, Texas and New Jersey.
  • Tried deficient design case defending architect and obtained defense verdict.
  • Won jury verdict defending malpractice claims against architectural and engineering firm involving alleged design and construction defects in the building envelope and brick cladding of a hotel.
  • Defended manufacturer of single ply roof system in cases involving collapses of large commercial buildings in North Carolina (directed verdict in case involving collapse of manufacturing plant), in Texas (summary judgment in case involving collapse of electronics regional distribution center with property damages and multi-million dollar inventory losses), and in Georgia (mediated settlement of cases involving property damages and personal injury resulting from collapse of shopping center).
  • Served as National Defense Counsel for manufacturers of Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS) for over 10 years in defense of hundreds of class actions and individual lawsuits, in state courts throughout the US and in the MDL, involving allegations of defects in the design, marketing, and use of its products, in various building types including motels, hotels, condominiums, restaurants, shopping centers, industrial facilities, churches and residences.
  • Served as Southern Regional Counsel for manufacturer of single ply roofing systems for over 15 years, defending numerous lawsuits in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas, involving various legal theories and allegations of defect and negligence in the design, marketing, distribution, performance, and suitability of single ply roofing systems.
  • Defended designer of paper digester facility resulting from explosion allegedly caused by design defects (favorable settlement during trial).
  • Represented numerous architects and engineers in lawsuits and dispute resolution arising out of design and construction administration services involving courthouses, jails, wastewater and sewage treatment plants, schools, offices, churches, manufacturing and industrial facilities.
