Real Estate and Construction
Nellie Shipley in the Raleigh office focuses primarily on the acquisition, development or redevelopment, operation, and disposition of real property. She represents developers and those investing in improved real estate. Typical projects include mixed-use developments, office buildings, shopping centers, golf course communities, office parks, industrial parks and large corporate acquisitions involving significant real estate assets. In turn, Nellie works closely with Don Donadio and Heather Mallard.
Coordinating her efforts with Don Donadio, Karen Carey negotiates incentive packages and works with state and local economic development staff to resolve permitting and regulatory obstacles. Karen assists relocating and expanding companies in choosing architects, engineers, construction managers and general managers and drafts and negotiates contracts for these services on behalf of the companies. Karen stays with the companies through the design and construction process, helping to resolve the issues that inevitably arise on construction projects.
