Latin American Practice Area

Womble Carlyle’s Latin American practice has grown in a manner consistent with the needs of the Firm’s clients and the economic development of the Southeastern United States. We are in step with the increasing number of inbound and outbound transactions to and from Latin America, the strategic planning of the City of Atlanta intended to position Atlanta as the new “Gateway to the Americas,” and the evolution of the negotiations to establish the Free Trade Area of the Americas. Womble Carlyle lawyers, fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, regularly assist clients in a broad range of matters. Our lawyers are members of international business associations focused on Latin America, including, the Brazil-U.S. Business Council, the Inter-American Bar Association, the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce of Georgia, and Hemisphere Inc., the organizing committee leading Georgia’s efforts to attract the secretariat of the Free Trade Area of the Americas to the City of Atlanta.
