Womble Carlyle Washington, DC Office Move

Same Quality Service – New Neighborhood
Womble Carlyle Creates Eco-Friendly “Office of the Future” at 1200 Nineteenth Street

Value for clients. Respect for all employees. Concern for our community.

These values are at the heart of Womble Carlyle, and they are reflected in the firm’s new Washington, D.C., Office. After 10 years at 1401 Eye Street, NW, Womble Carlyle will relocate to 1200 Nineteenth Street in August 2011, giving the firm a dynamic new space to serve its D.C. clients.

Innovation is a focus of the new D.C. Office, as the firm broke from tradition to create “the office of the future.” The LEED Platinum Certified building includes the latest green construction and green operations techniques, helping the firm reduce its carbon footprint through sustainable, eco-friendly practices, just as our clients are doing.

Unlike in traditional law offices, work spaces are designed to allow maximum collaboration, something Womble Carlyle’s D.C. Office has long emphasized. Members and associates will have the same size offices, breaking down barriers even further. Large windows and sliding glass doors allow the maximum amount of natural light to flow in, creating a welcoming environment for clients and team members.

Architect Steve Polo of OPX solicited input from attorneys and employees at all levels, and 98 percent chose to participate in the Vision Survey Process. This meshes with the firm’s extensive use of Gallup Strengths to guide team member activities. The result of this team-wide input is an office that all D.C. Office team members can be proud of and feel a part of.

“We are excited about our new home, and we look forward to welcoming clients here,” said Pam Rothenberg, Managing Member of the D.C. Office. “In addition to the advantages this space will offer, we believe the Nineteenth Street neighborhood is an appealing place to be, and will help us attract the next generation of clients and team members.”
