Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, LLP announced that four of its attorneys have become partners in the firm. The attorneys, all of whom served previously in associate or of counsel roles at Womble Carlyle, are: Todd Billmire, Steve Clinton, Ryan Gilsenan and Chris Iavarone.

  • Todd Billmire represents and advises businesses, utilities, and municipalities in complex environmental and toxic tort litigation and compliance matters. He also has provided counsel to and represented individuals and businesses in a wide range of complex business litigation matters, including class action litigation, securities litigation, and corporate and commercial disputes. He practices in Womble Carlyle’s Charlotte, N.C. office.
  • Steve Clinton concentrates on corporate and securities law. Clinton represents a broad range of companies from privately held startup companies to publicly traded corporations.  He has extensive experience in all aspects of corporate transactions and assists clients with the negotiation and consummation of mergers, stock sales, asset acquisitions and other reorganizations. He practices in Womble Carlyle’s Silicon Valley office.
  • Ryan Gilsenan counsels commercial ship owners and insurers in responding to collisions, machinery failure, groundings, cargo damage, longshoreman and seaman claims, as well as MARPOL compliance and investigations, charter party negotiations, and other incidents and disputes. He also practices in general litigation involving construction defects, contracts and product liability. A former seagoing marine engineer aboard tankers, container ships and car carriers, and a former officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve, Gilsenan practices in Womble Carlyle’s Charleston, S.C. office.
  • Chris Iavarone is a real estate attorney that represents and advises clients on the acquisition, financing, development, leasing and sale of commercial properties, with a focus on multifamily communities and office buildings. He also advises clients on complex mixed-use developments, ground leases, and joint ventures. Iavarone practices in Womble Carlyle’s Washington, D.C. office.
